What to expect from Statts Electric

Not every home needs a $4,000 panel upgrade to add a Level 2 EV charger. A smart load management system uses a current transformer or smart breaker to monitor your home's real-time electrical draw. When other loads are high, it tunes your EV charger down. When the house is asleep, it ramps the charger back up to full speed.

Statts Electric installs load management systems from DCC, NeoCharge, Wallbox, and Span across Chester County. They're a fantastic option for older Main Line homes with 100A or 150A service where a full panel upgrade would mean re-running the service entrance — a much bigger and more expensive project.

We perform a load calculation, recommend the right device for your panel, install everything cleanly, and configure the charger so you still wake up to a full battery. Most load management installs add only $400–$700 over a standard EV charger install — far less than a panel upgrade.

Benefits

  • Avoid The Panel Upgrade

Often saves $2,000–$4,000 vs. a full 200A service upgrade.

  • Works With Older Panels

Perfect for 100A or 150A service that's otherwise tapped out.

  • Automatic Throttling

Senses other loads in real time and dials charging up or down to stay safe.

  • Still Charges Overnight

When the house is asleep, the charger runs at full speed — battery's full by morning.

  • Multi-EV Friendly

Some systems even let you share one circuit between two chargers in a dual-EV home.

  • Code-Compliant

Every device we install meets NEC 625 and is permitted and inspected.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers from electricians who install EV chargers across Chester County every week.

A current sensor monitors total household draw. When other loads spike (oven, dryer, AC), the EV charger reduces its draw automatically. When loads drop, the charger ramps back up.
